On Friday 8th November We have a special day planting thousands of crocuses in the Butterfly Garden as part of Banstead Rotary’s successful Purple for Polio campaign. People and organisations will be invited to demonstrate countryside skills, sponsor crocuses or join in the planting. Pencil in the date, we'd love to see you!
Sadly tree surgeons from Merrist Wood will be unable to join us on this occasion.

The Friends meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month between October and March at 9.30am until 1200pm. It's a small group at present but we’d love to welcome folk who like working outdoors. Our current tasks are cutting back the overgrown brambles at the top of the field.

It's time to come together with like-minded individuals and groups who enjoy this little oasis on the edge of Banstead. Anthea and I have made a small start but wish to welcome others who are willing to share their time and skills and enjoy the rewards of working in the field.
We hope to use a crocus planting as an opportunity to launch ‘The Friends of Banstead Wildlife Field’ and to establish a healthy rhythm of maintenance and conservation for the future. And we have a plan of action for Autumn 2024 which is outlined below.
We will update this page with a range of opportunities for supporting the work indoors and out. Everyone is welcome. If you haven’t done this before, come and learn. If you have then we would love you to inspire others, or just quietly enjoy doing what you love.
